Keeping On!

Ok, Sorry It's been so long since I logged on last!

Last time I weighed myself I weigh 153.5! Slowly losing the weight. But I've been exercising and eating fewer calories and eating better than I used to.
My key is to splurge myself every once in a while in order to keep myself on track or I'll undo everything and start gaining the weight back if I binge on m&ms or ice cream or whatever it is that I'm craving at the time.

My sister did give me this neat little app that helps me stay on track throughout the day with eating. It's called  MyFitnessPal and I know it's for apple devices, I'm not sure if it is on the android market. I'm sure there is something like it though on android and the one for the App Store is free. You say how many pounds a week you want to lose and how much exercise you get on the daily. So since I work on my feet most of the day I get a "light" amount of exercise. Then you put in all of the food you ate that day etc. It's really helpful especially to make you more aware of what you are eating and all of that.

Anyway, I'm still doing the couch to 5k program and I repeated week one for 2 weeks so now I am on week 2. I found that I really enjoy running and eventually would like to run in a 5k! I think it would be fun and definitely rewarding to say the least! I'm just working on getting in shape for the time being and getting healthy.

This not only has been helping me to become healthy, but I'm making sure my son is eating healthier too. This morning he asked for an apple and peanut butter for breakfast! Made me proud to know that I'm rubbing off on him! Although the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is still his favorite!

Comments and Questions are always welcome!

Stay motivated!

Okay I forgot to post on here after I weighed myself yesterday! Well a few days ago I had weighed myself and it was 159.5 =[ two pounds more than when I started. Then when I weighed myself yesterday, I looked down at the scale and 156.5!! I was so excited! So I'm finally getting the hang of eating right.

I treated myself by going out in the heat to the track at the local middle school for my running/walking exercise and sweating my rear-end off. It was awesome! Since it's not advised to run every day since you are breaking down muscle as you run, I'm going to walk on the days I don't run, that way I don't start getting lazy. I'm doing really good so far (granted it's only been a week) but for me I usually would have given up by this point. So if you're like me and can't stick to much, you can do it! I mean take a look at me! I AM!!! =]

So off I go to make my yummy breakfast =] It is possible to eat healthy and get full. Some people don't realize that. Especially if you are always drinking water. That helps too.

Comments are always welcome!

Going to make some broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken for dinner. only 142 cals a piece! It looked and sounded delicious so I'm going to try it. Then tonight I'm going running again.

I'm getting ready for the Dirty Girl Run on September 15. It sounds like so much fun. Today was the Color Run. I want to do that next year. It looks like so much fun!!

So far I'm doing pretty good to sticking to my diet. I had a few slip ups this week, but I'm getting better!

Like I've said before, any comments or suggestions are always welcome!
God Bless

I definitely recommend that workout! It rocks. =]

Working out

Ok I heard about this great website called and I'm going to try it! It's a 9 week program that gradually helps you start running from the couch to 5k. So what that means is, you're a couch potato like I was right? Well this program will make it super simple for you to get into running. You can also google couch to 5k and it should come up.

I'm going to try it. I think it's a really good plan! So far I've been walking every other day, making my distance a little longer each day. I hope this works! I've always envied the girls that I see running through the neighborhood and I think to myself, "Ugh, I wish I could do that!" well, now I am! That's going to be another one of my goals! To run a 5k. =]

Always drink plenty of water!
God bless!

Some things

Whooo! Today isn't so bad so far. Kinda pigged out a little bit. I'm working on it though!

Had some yummy food though!

This one is my own I came up with. I don't have the exact measurements, but its pretty simple, add a little bit of everything and vuwala delicious!

This bag was like 10 bucks, but its sooooo yummy!

Then I add the yogurt. It's just one 6 oz thing of yogurt since the smoothie is only for one!

Then I add half of a banana. Now if you have bananas that are starting to get pretty ripe, its a good way to use them up! So that's what I've been doing.

Then I add some almond milk. This stuff is pretty awesome! Try it out.

And just blend it all together! Here is what mine looks like:

Starting Day 2

OK! Today is day 2! Since I already got started yesterday, today should be just a baby step in getting easier. I'm going to weigh myself every day, mainly for my own motivation, but I'll post on here every week mile marker my weight, and how much I've lost. Also I'll post pictures too, every two weeks or so, so that you can see the difference, if there is any.

I'm going to focus mainly on the work out portion of the weight loss today! I'm going to look for a fun, not too expensive class to go to. Maybe a barre class? I've heard they're great! I'm starting to walk as well, and then eventually I'll get up to running.

If anyone has any suggestions, comments, or questions, please let me know!! I'm always up for new ideas. =]

Have a good day!

Okay I tried this one too. It's a carrot cake smoothie. It wasn't too bad. If I was STARVING I would probably eat it, but you can try it and see if you like it!

Day One

Today marks the first day of my diet, and weight loss plan. Summer is here and I finally decided that I need to lose my baby weight. I weighed myself this morning and I'm at 157.5. I was 115 prior to getting pregnant and I would like to go back to that if not a little less. So my plan is to lose the weight in 3 months. But if it takes a little bit longer, that's okay. I want to do it in a healthy way, so it doesn't come back, and my body is in peak condition so to speak. I'm super excited and can't wait to start seeing results!

I will have a journal of what I eat every day so that I'm more aware of what I'm putting in my body. I've already started so I'm already marking it down. If I find any yummy healthy recipes I'll put them on here for your viewing pleasure! I've already found a couple so I'll put the links on here. I'll only put recipes on here that I've personally tried. So I know they are good.

Also, So I can keep track of my progress I'm taking pictures throughout my journey! And yes, they aren't the most flattering, but it is my way of motivating myself, and hopefully some others too!

So here we go! I hope this inspires some people. If I can lose the weight, anyone can. I've tried diets and things, and they've never worked for me, and I always relapse and go back to eating whatever! So monitoring my food intake and my calorie burn and WHAT I eat is going to definitely help me on my journey! Well a journey starts with a single step, and today is that single step. =]

This is a Thin Mint Protein Smoothie I found on this cool website. She's got great tips and recipes, but here's this one.
